I found this when I was cleaning out my LiveJournal. It's a verse that was given to me as an alumni of the Waldorf School. They don't give this to you until the day you leave because only then are we able to comprehend the full meaning of this poem. And true enough, Dr. Steiner's words rang true on that day and still do today and I thought I'd just share.

The Leaving Verse from Dr. Steiner:

In den Weiten der Lebenswege
Soll sich spiegeln
Was im lieben Jugendhause
Wie das Siegel
Echten Menschenwesens
In das herz
Sich geprägt~

In der Tiefe der Erinnerung
Soll sich stark erweisen
Was die Seele durfte finden
In Herzenskreisen ~
Durch die Geistesführerschaft,
In den Kräften
Lieber Lebensschulung~

In English:

In the ever-widening paths of life,
May there be reflected,
What in the golden years of youth,
Impressed itself into the heart
Like a seal of true humanity
May, what the soul was granted to find
In heart-warmed companionship
Show its strength
In the depths of memory~

Through the spiritual guidance
Of the strong forces
Of a cherished schooling for life~
